About Skills Passport

The Energy Skills Passport is being developed as a commitment in the North Sea Transition Deal People & Skills Strategy. It is an innovative solution that will support the offshore workforce to transition seamlessly across different energy sectors.

  • Future-proofing careers

The needs of the workforce are at the heart of the Energy Skills Passport. Individuals will be able to use the Energy Skills Passport to view their current core qualifications, understand the recognised qualifications required to move between sectors, and explore future career pathways in the energy industry.

  • A streamlined process

Underpinned by mapped standards that are mutually recognised across the different energy sectors, the Energy Skills Passport reduces barriers to transition by removing training duplication and streamlining process.

  • Empowering workforces

An agile and dynamic workforce is critical to deliver the UK’s net zero ambitions. The Energy Skills Passport empowers the workforce to pursue transition opportunities and will help keep valuable skills within the industry.
